My 18th Birthday

I’m 18! My 18th birthday was on Monday and it’s so weird that I’m an adult now! To celebrate, I went out to dinner in London with my family. We had dinner at Piccolino on Heddon Street and the nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus. If you hadn’t already figured from the name, Piccolino serves Italian cuisine which is my favourite and I’d definitely recommend this restaurant. I had linguine with king prawns and courgettes (Linguine ai Gamberetti) and it was delicious. Then, we decided to have pudding and drinks at Hotel Cafe Royal which is just up the road from Piccolino, on Regents Street. I opted for a light chocolate mousse alongside a cocktail called Bela (Sagatiba Velha Cachaca, white grapes, strawberries, passion fruit juice, mint). I had such a good birthday and thanks to everyone who made it such a special day!

A/W Wishlist- High Street Picks

MY A/W wishlist is piling up and the high street brands have really delivered this season- their fabulous collections prove that you can find yourself, for example, a premium looking tailored coat at a not so premium price- everyone has got to love the British high street! I certainly cannot afford everything off this wishlist but I don’t think I can resist grabbing this Zara jumpsuit next time I go shopping! The print and colour palette are divine. Also, I’ve been looking for my perfect jumpsuit for what feels like donkey’s years and at £29.99, I don’t think you can go wrong with this jumpsuit. An extra bonus is that it can be styled for both day and night- a very versatile garment I think! What pieces are on your A/W wishlist?

“Paris is always a good idea.”- Audrey Hepburn

Last week, I spent a long weekend in beautiful Paris with my friend Olivia! It was my first ever time in the city and I am now obsessed with the Parisian lifestyle and I absolutely adore the architecture, especially the ornate balconies adorning many buildings along Paris’ streets. I thought I’d do a blog post telling you about some of the things I got up to and to share some of the photos I took during my short stay.

Day 1:

We traveled to Gare du Nord by Eurostar and after a pleasant 2 hours 15 mins journey and a couple of stops on the Metro later we arrived at the Moulin Rouge which was close to our hotel. After settling in, we caught a cute toy-style train to Montmartre and found somewhere to eat. We decided to try the french delicacy of frog’s legs which I have to say were pretty delicious despite the ‘interesting’ slimy texture. After dinner, we had our portraits done- I love mine and definitely think it’s worth doing however I’m not sure if it looks exactly like me though- what do you think? Then, we both delved into our first crepe of the trip- nutella was an excellent choice!

Day 2:

On Saturday, we took a tour bus which was a great way of seeing many of the sights Paris has to offer. We popped into lots of food shops and Boulangerie’s and marveled at the fantastic displays of cakes and pastries. Then we ate lunch at a cafe and had a baguette and chips. After lunch, we visited L’arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower and after getting lost we made our way on the Tour Bus to Notre Dame, had a delicious flower shaped icecream and walked to the padlock bridge. That evening we had savory crepes in the Latin Quarter and then took the Metro back to the Eiffel tower. The Eiffel tower was spectacularly illuminated and we embraced our inner child and took a ride on the carousel beside the Eiffel tower. Unfortunately, the heaven’s then opened and I started to regret only having taken suede sandals- not fun!

Day three comprised of more rain showers and shopping on the Champs-elysees. Walking through the puddled streets in the rain meant my sandal situation was at it’s worst, my nude sandals had now turned a dark brown and by the time they were almost dry we were met by another crazy rain storm :(. Getting to the station was quite a stressful experience to say the least, having to get out of a taxi on a street corner due to traffic and sprint to the station. Luckily, we made it around 10 minutes to spare- thank goodness!

Overall, I had an amazing time in Paris filled with delicious food, stunning sights and lots of laughs with Olivia. I would love to go back soon and see more of Paris as a weekend is simply not enough with so much to see in this fab city!

OOTE- Zara Print Cross-over Blouse

Today’s post is more of an evening look (I would never wear heels in the day!) and the main element of it, is this gorgeous blue print Zara cross-over blouse which I got in the sale for a bargain of £12.99- Oh yes! Due to the blouse being quite baggy and oversized, I have styled it with my grey marl trousers from La Redoute which are my favourite trousers as they match with everything and they are skinny but not clingy on the leg! For accessories I have added my silver paisley long chain necklace from Mango as I feel it works well with the deep v-neck of the blouse therefore extending the torso. I have also stacked on 2 silver rings which say “Dance” and “Sing” on them and they are from Tempest Jewelry. To make the outfit more of an evening look, I have added my black chunky heels from Red Herring but if it was for day I would add some black ankle boots to complete the look. Hope you like- Enjoy!

OOTD- Life is a great sunrise

Hey guys! Today’s post is an OOTD featuring my trusty Zara oversized coat which I also wore in my last outfit post. I got ready really quickly this morning so that I could take some photos whilst the sun was rising and luckily I was just in time! With my tan coat I chose to wear my Topshop short-sleeved silky t-shirt with a check and floral half and half pattern and I clashed it with my Topshop burgundy velvet floral shorts. Then I added Zara caramel thin belt, M&S thick grey tights and Clarks black shoes. I completed the look with a plaited hair-do which is a fab solution for a bad hair day and if any one wants to see a tutorial on how to create this hairstyle just comment saying so! It’s been a lovely sunny day today and it has been a refreshing change to the horrible raining weather we’ve been having recently. I hope everyone’s having a nice weekend!-Hope you like- Enjoy!

Something’s Bugging me…..

For my birthday my lovely sister gifted me this beautiful beetle/bug silver and green jem stone necklace from Ted Baker. I’ve been looking for jewelery with bugs on for ages but never quite found what I was looking for! She got it from an Outlet Village called Bicester Village where she works at Ralph Lauren. I absolutely adore this necklace as it gives a quirky yet elegant touch to an outfit and it is a very simple, classic piece on this long silver chain. It also came in this gorgeous Ted Baker duster bag which is a great way to keep it protected. I have put it with a couple of pieces here. The first is from a previous post with a Topshop shirt and the second it is paired with a floral Zara Blouse! I hope you like!- Enjoy!
