3 Looks- London Travels

Hey guys! Today’s blog post features 3 outfits that I wore when I stayed with my sister in London last week. I had such a fun time and did lots of shopping and fun activities. Hope you like- Enjoy!

Look 1- Florals and Denim

Here I am standing in front of the Monki store on Carnaby Street. My floral blouse is from Monki and I’ve worn it to death since I purchased it last summer and I usually pair it with my denim skirt from Asos which always rides up- it’s not always this short- urgh! I’m wearing my tan sandals from Office, Cambridge Satchel (worn throughout) and Olivia Burton watch.

  • Monki Pink Floral Swing Blouse
  • Asos A-line denim mini skirt
  • Office Tan Leather Sandals
  • Cambridge Satchel Navy and Blush Bag
  • Olivia Burton Black Leather Strap Watch

Look 2- Fifties Glamour

I wore this outfit for a job interview at Canary Wharf and most of the items are my sister’s since I forgot to pack smart clothes. I love my sister’s patterned midi skirt from Stradivarius as it creates the perfect fifties hourglass silhouette. Into the skirt, I tucked in a navy v-neck blouse with lace on the sleeves (again my sister’s) from Banana Republic. Since this blouse has quite a low neckline it looks good with a small dainty necklace on a short chain and mine is from Accessorise. I wore the same shoes and bag as my last look.

  • Banana Republic Navy V-neck Blouse
  • Accessorize Dainty Silver Necklace
  • Sandals and Bag (Same as above)

Look 3- Patterned Culottes

I purchased these amazing scarf print culottes from Zara about a month ago and I am still obsessed with them! I wore them out to dinner and a walk along the South Bank and styled them with this turquoise ribbed top from Topshop. I then slipped on my rose gold Ipanema sandals and opted for my favourite necklace from & Other Stories which seems to look great with everything!

Fashion Revolution Day 2015

Hey guys! Last Friday, the 24th of April, was Fashion Revolution day. It is a day which raises awareness about ethical and sustainable fashion and encourages us to ask ourselves “Who made my clothes?” therefore bridging the gap between producer and consumer.

Every Fashion Revolution day lots of events are organised internationally. My sister decided to host an event which took place in Marble Arch, London. The event was called ‘ The People’s Photoshoot’ and it involved 3 steps: Pick, Pose, Post.

Pick: people choose from a selection of postcards addressed to well-known brands

Pose: then they take a photo with one of the postcards

Post: after they are asked to use social media to send it to the brand and ask the brand: “Who made my clothes?”

The designer jumble sale:

At the same venue in Marble Arch there was also a designer jumble sale with amazing discounted garments. At the sale I also met Susie Bubble, one of the most well-known fashion bloggers, who was doing some styling at the event.

Event at The Cube:

Afterwards we also helped set up another event at The Cube in Shoreditch which invited people to cut the labels out of their clothing and stick it on black board or a map corresponding to the country in which it was produced.

Overall I had a really fun day and was honoured to be involved in events organised to promote Fashion Revolution. Unfortunately the fashion industry does have a negative impact on many workers and the environment but Fashion Revolution aims to change the attitude towards buying clothing and that our decision to buy a garment should not only be influenced by the price, style and fit of the end product but also the conditions in which it was made, treatment of the workers and many other ethical and environmental factors. So, do tweet your favourite brands asking them #whomademyclothes and also use the hashtag #FashRev.

OOTD- Blush Pink and Patterned Trousers

Hi guys! Today’s blog post is an OOTD featuring some of my favourite items at the moment! I got this boxy blush pink top from my sister for my birthday from Banana Republic. It’s become one of my wardrobe essentials and I adore the crossover cut-out on the back. I paired this top with these Zara trousers with geometric print- I bought these a few seasons ago but I am obsessed with printed trousers and continue to purchase more and more, adding to my collection. To make the outfit more appropriate for this time of year, I added my navy biker jacket from Gap and to accessorize blush pink minimal heels from M&S and blush stone necklace from &OtherStories. Happy Easter everyone and I hope you like this look- Enjoy!

My 18th Birthday

I’m 18! My 18th birthday was on Monday and it’s so weird that I’m an adult now! To celebrate, I went out to dinner in London with my family. We had dinner at Piccolino on Heddon Street and the nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus. If you hadn’t already figured from the name, Piccolino serves Italian cuisine which is my favourite and I’d definitely recommend this restaurant. I had linguine with king prawns and courgettes (Linguine ai Gamberetti) and it was delicious. Then, we decided to have pudding and drinks at Hotel Cafe Royal which is just up the road from Piccolino, on Regents Street. I opted for a light chocolate mousse alongside a cocktail called Bela (Sagatiba Velha Cachaca, white grapes, strawberries, passion fruit juice, mint). I had such a good birthday and thanks to everyone who made it such a special day!

Street Style- My Friends

Today’s blog post is a bit of a different one. For the past week I’ve been taking pictures of my friend’s outfits for a street style feature. I’m going to try and make this a regular thing so stay tuned for more posts like this. I hope you are inspired by my friend’s style- Enjoy!

Outfit 1- Olivia

Olivia looks fabulous in baroque print skater dress from New Look. She’s styled it with black cardigan, tights and pumps.

  • Dress: New Look, Cardigan: H&M, Pumps: Dorothy Perkins

Outfit 2- Rachel

Rachel has got the oversized trend en-pointe by wearing this grey marl jumper (borrowed from her Dad) over Topshop blue skinny jeans. Adidas burgundy trainers add a pop of colour and I love her angel wing earrings!

Capture4

  • Jumper: Her Dad’s, Jeans: Topshop, Trainers: Adidas Gazelles, Earrings: Asos

Outfit 3- Rachel

Here’s Rachel again with another great outfit. The main element of this look is her amazing leather bomber jacket with shearling detail. Style it with black jeans, boots and textured jumper like Rachel has done!

Capture5

  • Jacket: Asos Marketplace, Jumper: A gift, Jeans: Topshop, Boots: Office

Outfit 4- Charlotte

Charlotte is wearing this gorgeous Zara cape jacket in an oatmeal shade with brushed wool feel and fur collar. She lets the cape do the talking and pairs it with black long sleeve top, thick leggings and black patent boots.

  • Cape: Zara, Top: New Look, Leggings: M&S, Boots: Office

Outfit 5- Katie

Katie is wearing a grey v-neck jumper and white skinny jeans with a muted floral pattern. I love the soft colour palette and the baggy jumper works well with skinny jeans.

  • Jumper: Jack Wills, Jeans: H&M

NAVY- OOTD

Hey guys! Today’s post is an OOTD featuring 2 navy garments. Navy is a go-to shade for me all year round and I believe it should be approached in the same way as black- wear it all over to create an effortless look. Navy suits me better than black as it’s less harsh against my pale skin tone and it has become my comfort zone shade, especially during winter. I have paired this Topshop textured navy high-neck top with Zara navy wool A-line skirt. Then, I added M&S grey wool tights, Oh My Love burgundy cape, Hobbs burgundy brogues with gold studding and Navy Cambridge Satchel. I believe when wearing the same colour on both top and bottom varying texture is essential in order to add interest to the outfit as a whole. Hope you are all having a good weekend- Enjoy!
