NAVY- OOTD

Hey guys! Today’s post is an OOTD featuring 2 navy garments. Navy is a go-to shade for me all year round and I believe it should be approached in the same way as black- wear it all over to create an effortless look. Navy suits me better than black as it’s less harsh against my pale skin tone and it has become my comfort zone shade, especially during winter. I have paired this Topshop textured navy high-neck top with Zara navy wool A-line skirt. Then, I added M&S grey wool tights, Oh My Love burgundy cape, Hobbs burgundy brogues with gold studding and Navy Cambridge Satchel. I believe when wearing the same colour on both top and bottom varying texture is essential in order to add interest to the outfit as a whole. Hope you are all having a good weekend- Enjoy!

A/W Wishlist- High Street Picks

MY A/W wishlist is piling up and the high street brands have really delivered this season- their fabulous collections prove that you can find yourself, for example, a premium looking tailored coat at a not so premium price- everyone has got to love the British high street! I certainly cannot afford everything off this wishlist but I don’t think I can resist grabbing this Zara jumpsuit next time I go shopping! The print and colour palette are divine. Also, I’ve been looking for my perfect jumpsuit for what feels like donkey’s years and at ¬£29.99, I don’t think you can go wrong with this jumpsuit. An extra bonus is that it can be styled for both day and night- a very versatile garment I think! What pieces are on your A/W wishlist?

“Paris is always a good idea.”- Audrey Hepburn

Last week, I spent a long weekend in beautiful Paris with my friend Olivia! It was my first ever time in the city and I am now obsessed with the Parisian lifestyle and I absolutely adore the architecture, especially the ornate balconies adorning many buildings along Paris’ streets. I thought I’d do a blog post telling you about some of the things I got up to and to share some of the photos I took during my short stay.

Day 1:

We traveled to Gare du Nord by Eurostar and after a pleasant 2 hours 15 mins journey and a couple of stops on the Metro later we arrived at the Moulin Rouge which was close to our hotel. After settling in, we caught a cute toy-style train to Montmartre and found somewhere to eat. We decided to try the french delicacy of frog’s legs which I have to say were pretty delicious despite the ‘interesting’ slimy texture. After dinner, we had our portraits done- I love mine and definitely think it’s worth doing however I’m not sure if it looks exactly like me though- what do you think? Then, we both delved into our first crepe of the trip- nutella was an excellent choice!

Day 2:

On Saturday, we took a tour bus which was a great way of seeing many of the sights Paris has to offer. We popped into lots of food shops and Boulangerie’s and marveled at the fantastic displays of cakes and pastries. Then we ate lunch at a cafe and had a baguette and chips. After lunch, we visited L’arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower and after getting lost we made our way on the Tour Bus to Notre Dame, had a delicious flower shaped icecream and walked to the padlock bridge. That evening we had savory crepes in the Latin Quarter and then took the Metro back to the Eiffel tower. The Eiffel tower was spectacularly illuminated and we embraced our inner child and took a ride on the carousel beside the Eiffel tower. Unfortunately, the heaven’s then opened and I started to regret only having taken suede sandals- not fun!

Day three comprised of more rain showers and shopping on the Champs-elysees. Walking through the puddled streets in the rain meant my sandal situation was at it’s worst, my nude sandals had now turned a dark brown and by the time they were almost dry we were met by another crazy rain storm :(. Getting to the station was quite a stressful experience to say the least, having to get out of a taxi on a street corner due to traffic and sprint to the station. Luckily, we made it around 10 minutes to spare- thank goodness!

Overall, I had an amazing time in Paris filled with delicious food, stunning sights and lots of laughs with Olivia. I would love to go back soon and see more of Paris as a weekend is simply not enough with so much to see in this fab city!

OOTD- Floral Kimono and Denim Playsuit

Today’s post is an OOTD featuring my new obsession in the form of this beautiful Mango silky floral kimono. A kimono is definitely an essential as it can be easily draped over any plain outfit, immediately adding femininity and it’s loose, oversized frame is also super comfy. I have paired it with my Topshop button-up denim playsuit as denim is a huge trend for the upcoming season, showcased by the likes of Balmain, Marios Schwab and many others in their SS14 collections. Then I have added some black tights, Hush Puppies tan ankle boots, Accessorise pearl earrings and Topshop gold stacking rings. I managed to catch the sunset when taking these photos- it was such a beautiful sunny weekend- can’t wait for more weather like this!- Enjoy!

OOTD- Life is a great sunrise

Hey guys! Today’s post is an OOTD featuring my trusty Zara oversized coat which I also wore in my last outfit post. I got ready really quickly this morning so that I could take some photos whilst the sun was rising and luckily I was just in time! With my tan coat I chose to wear my Topshop short-sleeved silky t-shirt with a check and floral half and half pattern and I clashed it with my Topshop burgundy velvet floral shorts. Then I added Zara caramel thin belt, M&S thick grey tights and Clarks black shoes. I completed the look with a plaited hair-do which is a fab solution for a bad hair day and if any one wants to see a tutorial on how to create this hairstyle just comment saying so! It’s been a lovely sunny day today and it has been a refreshing change to the horrible raining weather we’ve been having recently. I hope everyone’s having a nice weekend!-Hope you like- Enjoy!

OOTD- Zara Oversized Coat

Today’s post is going to be a wintry OOTD, built around my new Zara Oversized tan coat. I wore this outfit at the weekend when I made a frantic trip to London to do some last-minute Christmas shopping! The oversized coat is a big trend for A/W13 and I love Celine’s and Stella McCartney’s swing on this trend, but I opted for one from Zara! I then threw on my chunky patterned scarf by Electronic Sheep (which I have worn to death over the years), my vintage white blouse, Topshop floral paperbag skirt, M&S grey wooly tights and my tan ankle boots from Hush Puppies. This look can be re-created with any oversized coat and I feel this look has an element of class and it is very¬†effortless. Also, I think the patterned scarf really offsets the whole look- Hope you like!- Enjoy!

OOTE- Asos Paisley Print Dress

Hey guys! Just a quick OOTE (outfit of the evening), which I wore to a friend’s birthday party last night. I am wearing this lovely Asos paisely print dress and it also has a gorgeous cutout in the back, I have paired this dress with my Accessorize small hamsa hand gold pendant, pearl earrings, black opaque tights and my long curly locks! Here I am at the party with Rachel (sure you’ve seen her before in my other posts) and she is wearing a Topshop red tartan midi skirt, black eyelash jumper, fox necklace and black opaque tights. I hope you like our outfits and happy birthday to my friend Sarah- she’ll be 17 today! Enjoy!
