This post features my current favourite jewelry piece which I’m pretty obsessed with at the moment. This collar necklace is a great addition to my summer wardrobe and the various encrusted jewels catch and reflect the sun’s rays wonderfully, making it a fab stand-out piece. I wore it for the first time the other day and received lots of compliments from friends- it certainly has the ‘WOW’ factor! I got this necklace from the shop where I work- Shu Shu, a boutique shop which sells shoes and accessories and they currently have lots of statement collar necklaces in store. In addition, I photographed the necklace on an issue of my dad’s Gardens Illustrated Magazine and I love how the necklace stands out against the bright fuchsia flowers- Hope you like- Enjoy!
Last week, I spent a long weekend in beautiful Paris with my friend Olivia! It was my first ever time in the city and I am now obsessed with the Parisian lifestyle and I absolutely adore the architecture, especially the ornate balconies adorning many buildings along Paris’ streets. I thought I’d do a blog post telling you about some of the things I got up to and to share some of the photos I took during my short stay.
We traveled to Gare du Nord by Eurostar and after a pleasant 2 hours 15 mins journey and a couple of stops on the Metro later we arrived at the Moulin Rouge which was close to our hotel. After settling in, we caught a cute toy-style train to Montmartre and found somewhere to eat. We decided to try the french delicacy of frog’s legs which I have to say were pretty delicious despite the ‘interesting’ slimy texture. After dinner, we had our portraits done- I love mine and definitely think it’s worth doing however I’m not sure if it looks exactly like me though- what do you think? Then, we both delved into our first crepe of the trip- nutella was an excellent choice!

On Saturday, we took a tour bus which was a great way of seeing many of the sights Paris has to offer. We popped into lots of food shops and Boulangerie’s and marveled at the fantastic displays of cakes and pastries. Then we ate lunch at a cafe and had a baguette and chips. After lunch, we visited L’arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower and after getting lost we made our way on the Tour Bus to Notre Dame, had a delicious flower shaped icecream and walked to the padlock bridge. That evening we had savory crepes in the Latin Quarter and then took the Metro back to the Eiffel tower. The Eiffel tower was spectacularly illuminated and we embraced our inner child and took a ride on the carousel beside the Eiffel tower. Unfortunately, the heaven’s then opened and I started to regret only having taken suede sandals- not fun!

Day three comprised of more rain showers and shopping on the Champs-elysees. Walking through the puddled streets in the rain meant my sandal situation was at it’s worst, my nude sandals had now turned a dark brown and by the time they were almost dry we were met by another crazy rain storm :(. Getting to the station was quite a stressful experience to say the least, having to get out of a taxi on a street corner due to traffic and sprint to the station. Luckily, we made it around 10 minutes to spare- thank goodness!

Overall, I had an amazing time in Paris filled with delicious food, stunning sights and lots of laughs with Olivia. I would love to go back soon and see more of Paris as a weekend is simply not enough with so much to see in this fab city!
Today marks my 2 years of blogging so I decided to do a post with pink balloons showing me celebrating- I wanted to buy balloons that said 2 years on them but I couldn’t find any so these pink ones had to do. I’d like to say a huge thank you to every one of you who has supported me over these last 2 years and here’s to many more years blogging!
My windowpane check, monochrome peplum top is from Banana Republic and I love the fit and structured wide peplum- very flattering! Then I am wearing a pastel pink scalloped-hem miniskirt from Asos which has been well loved due to the emerging bobbles caused by many washes. Then I have added my statement (extremely heavy) light blue floral necklace from Aldo which is a recent addition to my jewelry collection. To seal off the look, I slipped on my M&S blush pink strappy patent heels to give the outfit more of a dressy feminine touch- hope you like- Enjoy!
My lipstick is Crosswires by MAC
I’ve shown this necklace before in another post but I thought I’d do a bit of a cheeky closeup! I got this from a vintage store at Clothes Show Live last year. I do admit I am slightly obsessed with statement chocker style necklaces but they just look so effortlessly chic worn under a collared button up. Here I am wearing my gold lion chain necklace with a La Redoute white rounded collar shirt and a bright floral pattern jumper which has also featured in another post and is from Glamorous. Hope you like!
Last weekend I went to Clothes Show Live, and I will be doing a bigger post about this A.S.A.P! I thought I’d do a quick post just to show this gorgeous necklace I bought there for just £2!!- Yes £2!!- It has a very red-indian vibe to it with the lines of feathers and it is definitely a very statement piece!! I adore statement necklaces and I have quite a large collection of gold ones and I am now trying to build up my collection of silver ones!!- I hope you like it!!! Enjoy!
My gold chunky chain necklace from Asos has prooved a very worthwhile buy!! I adore it so much so, that I have been wearing it almost constantly since I bought it!! It’s what I call an essential statement necklace as it adds so much added class and individuality to even just a plain tee and jeans!! I hope you like!!- Enjoy!!
