Last week, I spent the weekend in London. On Saturday, I went to the ‘Horst- Photographer of Style’ exhibition at the V&A Museum and it was fantastic! Sunday marked my friend Rachel’s 18th birthday and we celebrated on a speed boat experience along the Thames and had champagne under Tower Bridge- it was so much fun! On Saturday, I wore my new peachy pink jacquard duster coat which I bought in the Zara sale in the summer. This coat is a more suitable style and colour for Spring but I wanted to get a couple more wears out of it before it starts getting really cold. I have styled this gorgeous coat with my Zara pleated cream chiffon top, Fat Face navy jeggings and Pedro Miralles blush pumps with block heel. To accessorize, I added a navy cross body bag (my mum’s) and &OtherStories pink jem necklace. I’m loving this coat and can’t wait to style it with more pastel coloured items in the spring! Hope you like- Enjoy!
Speed Boat ride on the Thames with Rachel on her 18th birthday:
Hey guys! I must apologise for the lack of posts during the last couple of months as I have been very busy doing AS level exams. However, I only have one left now, so expect many more posts from now on! Today’s blog post is a Spring/Summer lookbook and I have styled 3 different looks. I was planning to shoot this lookbook outside but the rain prevailed and it continued to pour down all day! I took this photos with the help of my friend Charlotte who I have just convinced to set up a blog- you can check it out HERE. I hope you like- Enjoy!
The first look is centred around these River Island floral wide shorts with navy background and a sunny pop of yellow flowers. I love the light draping fit of these shorts which makes them ideal for hot weather (which I hope we’ll be having!). I have paired them with a simple burgundy purpley t-shirt from Asos, my great grandmother’s layered necklace and blush patent pumps by Pedro Miralles.
Ice cream sundae
The second look is probably my favourite, with the combination of ice cream, pastel shades. I feel like this look has a slight vibe of a day at Brighton Pier in the 1950’s especially due to the tied shirt at the waist. My baby blue textured shorts are from Zara which I adore and my shirt is vintage. My bag is a new purchase which I have fallen in love with, by Coccinelle and the bubble gum pink shade is the colour of the season so I couldn’t pass it by! I am wearing the same shoes as above, my gold stacking rings are from Topshop, my nail vanish is Candy Floss by Mavala and my lipstick is Barry M 145.
This look has quite a 90’s vibe with these Topshop high-waisted Joni jeans paired with Topshop high-neck khaki crop-top. I love the combo of something high-waisted and something cropped as I feel it creates a gorgeous silhouette. My favourite element of this look is my recent purchase of these silver layered coin necklaces from Miss Selfridge which I bought as a set. They are very reminiscent of Dolce and Gabbana S/S14 with the influence of Roman coins. Then I slipped on my UO Deena and Ozzy brogues and applied some Bourjois rouge edition lipstick in 18 Violine Strass.
Today marks my 2 years of blogging so I decided to do a post with pink balloons showing me celebrating- I wanted to buy balloons that said 2 years on them but I couldn’t find any so these pink ones had to do. I’d like to say a huge thank you to every one of you who has supported me over these last 2 years and here’s to many more years blogging!
My windowpane check, monochrome peplum top is from Banana Republic and I love the fit and structured wide peplum- very flattering! Then I am wearing a pastel pink scalloped-hem miniskirt from Asos which has been well loved due to the emerging bobbles caused by many washes. Then I have added my statement (extremely heavy) light blue floral necklace from Aldo which is a recent addition to my jewelry collection. To seal off the look, I slipped on my M&S blush pink strappy patent heels to give the outfit more of a dressy feminine touch- hope you like- Enjoy!
I first discovered this beautiful collection in my Elle runway edit and Jil Sander was at a show in Paris! I spotted the collection and fell deep in love with its simplicity and beautifully made clothing and luxorious materials! Within the collection pastel colours have been used frequently along with deep reds and navy blues. I adore the oversized tailoring, fitted feminine dresses and unique neon pink cable knit sleeves! The whole collection struck me from the moment I saw it and I am seriously lusting over many of these pieces shown below- in my dreams!!! Enjoy!!
This picture is my image of the day because Giorgio Armani’s new collection is simply romantic and enchanting!! These pastel coloured silky fitted peplum tops are truly devine- the materials used contast with each other and are both equally luxiorious! The matching coloured clutch bags add an extra sprinkling of femininity and the look is completed with a smart black head piece- Bravo Giorgio you’ve done it once again!!
My Asos package just arrived and oh my goodness, I was so excited for this order! I have received some lovely pieces which are so stylish and great for the summer season! The first piece I have received is this beautiful shirt with burnout- which is basically a plain white shirt with lots of cutout holes! As you can see in the picture they have styled it with a black bandeau underneath however I wanted to fit in with the whole pastel trend so I ordered this beautiful lilac bandeau for the tiny price of £2.50!!! My final purchase was these very on-trend Cat eye sunglasses with contrast highbrow- and they a just stunning and suit me very well which is a very rare thing for me with sunglasses!! I am so frilled with these purchases and more posts will be on the way with styled outfits featuring these beauties- I definitely recommend to check out the Asos SALE- trust me you won’t regret it!! Enjoy!!
The Kooples is an amazing shop I had heard of before but my friend Tosti ( we call her by her surname) has recently been encouraging me to go and experience its diverse beauty!! So, yesterday I went and checked out their online website and I was almost in a state of shock in how stunning their collection is!! Although pretty pricey the quality is truly amazing and I think I will definitely save up for a key piece of theirs!! Anyway enough chit chat, what I have done is selected some of my favourite pieces from their current collection and ones I feel you will adore too!! So, enjoy and I definitely recommend you go and check their website out: http://www.thekooples.co.uk/ and I will put descriptions under each piece!!
Just a quick post to share Topshop’s new and fresh fantasy feather skirts which they are selling in this gorgeous bubble gum pink and also in mint. They look great with other pastelly colours worn on the top half like this light blue fade out sweat crop top. They are such an out going and fun piece and will make you stand out however you style it. They can be made to look fairly casual with simple basics or more dressy with full out glam sequined detail top and bling overload!!! Enjoy!!!
I adore florals and I’m sure a lot of others do, they can sometimes be a subtle girly touch or a bold and bright statement print. I usually wear more florals which are from a pastel pallette and are lighter, as I tend to wear more in the summer however they can also look nice as a twist on some more masculine pieces. Take pallazzo pants both pairs I own have a floral print one with bright pinks and yellows and the other monochrome. They can be clashed if the rules are followed and I love the look of floral skinny jeans with an oversized chunky jumper, marl grey t-shirt or fitted white crop top. American apparel have some gorgeous floral pieces and this is a picture of 2 beautiful garments with the same lilacy floral print, but one on a shirt dress and the other on a maxi skirt- Lovely!!
Pastels are a key trend at the moments and I couldn’t be in LOVE with them anymore. Whether its baby blues, bubble gums pinks, lilacs, zingy yellows- I can’t get enough of it!! Its is so Spring/summer and makes me happy to be wearing light colours despite the gloomy weather. Pastels are easy to style as they are reasonably plain and light and a great thing to is to mix lots of pastelly colours in a single outfit!! Here are a selection of pictures which fit within the pastel trend and which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
