Last weekend, I did a photoshoot with my sister at Vanity Studios, just off Oxford Street in London. We had our hair, makeup and nails done and got all glammed up for the shoot. I absolutely loved my makeup and I wish that I could re-create it to a similar standard! I thought I’d share the photos from the shoot of my sister and I- hope you like!
My outfit: Vintage Black Beaded High-neck top
My Outfit: Topshop Navy Textured High-neck Top, La Redoute Cream Lace Midi Skirt
Chloe’s Outfit: Top and skirt both from Brandy Melville
A picture I took to help me recreate the make up look that I had done
The other day I thought I’d attempt doing a 60’s Beehive hairstyle and surprisingly it turned out quite successfully! This season there is a nod to the 60’s trend throughout clothing, accessories, makeup and hair! Moschino’s Spring Collection is a great example of a runway heavily inspired by the sixties with key trends such as monochrome and bold pop’s of colour. I personally know a lot about the 60’s time period as it was my theme for my GSCE Textiles project where I made a 60’s inspired cape jacket. The beehive is one of the quintessential hairstyles of the swinging sixties where volume is created on the crown of the head through back-combing the hair and using masses of hairspray in many cases. The hugely influential style icon Audrey Hepburn was one of first to showcase this hairstyle and it is now seen as to be one of her trademarks! Many celebrities from the current day have additionally utilised the beehive style but have often put their own personal swing on it. These celebrities include Beyonce, Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel. I hope you like my attempt of this fabulous 60’s hairstyle and there is a picture of it in the centre of the collage with lots of pictures surrounding it! Enjoy!
I just came across this Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection (Elle.com) and vaguely recognised something familiar about the models’ hairstyle. Then I realised that yes this voluminous hairstyle, was actually my own hairstyle (well maybe a slightly more exaggerated version)! This concept slightly excited me because I have a very “love hate” relationship with my hair and here it is featured in a designer’s catwalk show! You will have seen my hair in some of my posts but until you meet me you won’t be able to witness the extent of its craziness! I have brown, extremely thick, curly hair which is often frizzy and is a nightmare to tame. However, after seeing this catwalk and them embracing my hairstyle and even Cara Delevingne rocking it, maybe I should learn to embrace my hair somewhat more – Enjoy!
The other day on a school day I decided to wear this bow in my hair which I made from some scrap material a while ago!! It’s this lovely teal blue colour and I got lots of complements at school! I’m really into bows at the moment especially for autumn/winter as I think they give a cute essence to any outfit!! I may do a DIY on how to make one of these bows, comments below if you’d like me to!! Enjoy!!
On Thursday I did a spot of late night shopping with my sister and came across this gorgeous plaited hairband from H&M!! At just £2.99 it’s a bargain buy and a piece which is essential when you just want to push all your hair back!! I’ve been wanting to do this look with my actual hair but I completely failed the last time I tried, so this is the next best thing!! When I wore this to school yesterday everybody thought it was my actual hair because the colour match is so good!! So if you have my coloured hair, and there’s a range of other colours too, head down to H&M and grab yours!!- Enjoy!!
Jamie King really pulls off this look!! I’m loving the mixture of light blue with darker blue dye underneath the light!! I think blue dip dyed hair really suits light blonde hair as it’s a real constrast on the hair!! Very funky, love it!- Enjoy!!
Fashion can speak many words but with the absence of a statement, eye-catching sometimes slightly wacky hairstyle the look especially on the catwalk can not be portrayed to its full potential! I am always fascinated by the wonderful world of hair and fashion hair never seizes to amaze me. I have selected some pictures of some amazing fashion hair and I hope you enjoy!!
Just a quick image of the day post- this is a beautiful picture of Keira Knightley with this stunning up do with red Chanel hairband!! I can’t get over how stunning she looks in this picture and would love to re-create this amazing catwalk worthy hair do!! Enjoy!!
This is a slightly random post to show what my hair looks like straight as many of my pictures are me with my wild curly hair. I don’t straighten my hair often but will sometimes do it for parties. I know people with naturally curly hair who straighten their hair everyday which most of us know can be very damaging for our hair. However, I like my hair straightened for a more slick and polished style and I am wearing in the picture my La Redoute white blouse and brown suede elbow pad jumper also from La Redoute Enjoy and tell me what you think of it!!! 🙂
This is what I am wearing today on this beautiful sunny day. This blue, green and white floral jumpsuit is from Johnnie B which is a teenage version of Boden and they do this lovely jumpsuit in all sorts of styles, colours and patterns. I got it for my birthday in early march this year and have been waiting for a hot day to wear it. I am only at home today so I have only added my Accessorise hamsa hand gold pendant necklace. I still have my blue glittery temp. tattoo on aswell!! My hair is also plated to one side- too hot to wear down!! Hope you like it and make sure you all enjoy this glorious and sunny weather!!!
