NYFW Street Style- My Favourites

Hi Guys! Today I thought I’d share some of my favourite street style looks from NYFW. Street style is great as it allows me to take inspiration and ideas from others, which I can infiltrate into my own outfits and NYFW is the ideal time to get inspired when all the fashionistas flock in impeccable ensembles to the catwalk shows. – Enjoy!

Top 10 Summer Essentials and Haul 2013

Hey! Today’s Post is going to be a summer haul of all the goodies I have purchased, over the last couple of months and the items that I have bought are also my summer essentials, which are my must-haves for this season!

Top 10 Summer Essentials and Haul

1. Playsuit– Playsuits are perfect for summer, they are so easy to chuck on and also work as great cover-ups over your bikini on holiday. Mine is a recent purchase from Warehouse and is in this lovely silky blue paisley material, you can see it styled in my last post here:

2. Maxi Dress– Maxi dresses are a fab knock out piece for the summer and suit many body shapes. They can also act as cover-ups over your bikini on holiday and are feminine beautiful garments. I bought mine from Vero Moda, which I got it in the Sale through and I adore the khaki tribal print, floaty material and gorgeous neckline.

3. Bright Coloured Bag– Bright coloured bags can make a great statement and mimic the bright and happy atmosphere in the summer. If you’re brave you could combine them with other brightly coloured items, to create a bold look. Mine was a present from my sister when she visited Tenerife and it’s by David Jones. The bright turquoise colour is very eye-catching and I also really like the cut out details.

4. Bikini– Bikini’s are absolute essentials for summer and on holiday, even if you’re not planning to go in the water, they are always a must-have to soak up those summer rays. I purchased mine from and I have never found such an amazing bikini, that really flatters my body shape. It’s a bright floral 50’s style halter-neck top with matching bottoms. The great thing about Asos is that you can buy bikini’s in seperates, because I don’t know about you, but hardly any women are the exact same size on the top and bottom, so I would recommend checking Asos for that reason.

5. Bright Nail Polishes– Bright nail polishes are a fun way of giving a colour boost to your nails. The summer season allows us to experiment with a variety of bright and bold shades and many nail colours are also intensified by a summer glow. The two I have recently purchased are Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Papaya and Rimmel Salon Pro with Lycra in Hip Hop. Both are fabulous summer shades and are also both very affordable.

6. Shorts– Shorts are such must-haves for the summer and enable your legs to breath in the hotter months. Denim shorts are definitely an essential and also go with so many things. I recently bought these high-waisted blue denim shorts from Monki and they are a very flattering cut and not too short, as many on the market are. I also recently bought these gorgeous blue and white floral patterned shorts from H&M for an absolute steal of £9.99 and I am sure I will be getting a lot of use out of these babies during the summer!

7. Short-Sleeved Shirt– Short-sleeved shirts are perfect for the summer as they keep you cool and are also very stylish. I bought mine from Topshop and it’s a slightly cropped white short-sleeved shirt with this really cool sheer floral pattern on it and if you want to see it styled you can use this link here:

8.Sunglasses– Sunglasses are truly stylish and add a sense of class to any outfit. In addition they are also very important to protect your eyes from the sun. I found these blue ones recently and are a vintage find of my mothers.

9. A Good Book– a good book is an absolute essential for on holiday, to read whilst sunbathing on the beach. I have recently started reading Micheal McIntyre’s Autobiography and I’m loving it, he is my favourite comedian and his book really gives me the giggles. So if you are going on holiday, I would really recommend getting a good book to read.

10. Bracelets– Cute colourful bracelets are perfect to build up on your wrist for the summer and why not try out lots of different colours, styles and embellishments. About a month ago I got this funky turquoise jem one from, I love it!

Here are lots of pictures which I took of my summer essentials:

Prom 2013

Yesterday, I had my Year 11 Prom and after months of preparation, the night of the 10th May 2013 arose… I previously shared a picture of my Prom dress on my blog and in this post I have included many pictures of the final outfit! I am wearing a Topshop off the shoulder structured blue dress with this beautiful lace pattern. For heels, I am wearing these M&S blush pink patent sandal style heels. Then for accessories I am holding this cream clutch bag which is embellished with pearls all over it and for earrings I am wearing these statement vintage silver crystal ones! I have styled my hair in a half up beehive style, I am wearing Superdrug fake eyelashes, my lipstick is in the colour Rosewood from Terre d’Oc and my nail vanish is in the colour Rosedust from Marvella. I adore my outfit and I feel it gives off a very vintage and feminine vibe. My friends dresses are from Coast and TK Max. I really hope you like my outfit and this post- enjoy!

The 60’s Beehive Hairstyle

The other day I thought I’d attempt doing a 60’s Beehive hairstyle and surprisingly it turned out quite successfully! This season there is a nod to the 60’s trend throughout clothing, accessories, makeup and hair! Moschino’s Spring Collection is a great example of a runway heavily inspired by the sixties with key trends such as monochrome and bold pop’s of colour. I personally know a lot about the 60’s time period as it was my theme for my GSCE Textiles project where I made a 60’s inspired cape jacket. The beehive is one of the quintessential hairstyles of the swinging sixties where volume is created on the crown of the head through back-combing the hair and using masses of hairspray in many cases. The hugely influential style icon Audrey Hepburn was one of first to showcase this hairstyle and it is now seen as to be one of her trademarks! Many celebrities from the current day have additionally utilised the beehive style but have often put their own personal swing on it. These celebrities include Beyonce, Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel. I hope you like my attempt of this fabulous 60’s hairstyle and there is a picture of it in the centre of the collage with lots of pictures surrounding it! Enjoy!

My Hair featured in Catwalk Show

I just came across this Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection ( and vaguely recognised something familiar about the models’ hairstyle. Then I realised that yes this voluminous hairstyle, was actually my own hairstyle (well maybe a slightly more exaggerated version)! This concept slightly excited me because I have a very “love hate” relationship with my hair and here it is featured in a designer’s catwalk show! You will have seen my hair in some of my posts but until you meet me you won’t be able to witness the extent of its craziness! I have brown, extremely thick, curly hair which is often frizzy and is a nightmare to tame. However, after seeing this catwalk and them embracing my hairstyle and even Cara Delevingne rocking it,  maybe I should learn to embrace my hair somewhat more – Enjoy!

My Festive Nails

Firstly, please ignore the fact that my nails are painted awfully, however relish the fact that I gave it a go! Yesterday I went to my friend Lauren’s house and we watched lots of films, had a nice catchup and painted out nails! I decided to use lots of festive colours and excessive amounts of glitter and I also did a little red snowflake design on my thumb! I had a great evening and it is finally dawning on me how near christmas is-Only a few days to go!! I hope you’re enjoying the christmas period and feel free to share your christmas nails with me!!- Enjoy!!pics 081 edot

Image of the Day

This image is from New York fashion week and this gal’s style is immaculate and she completes the whole feel of the outfit with adventurous makeup and accessories!! Her dress uses gorgeous combinations of colour and pattern which portray a very ethnic feel. Also, I’m loving her dragon fly brooch and her makeup is simply stunning and so well done!! I adore this street style look and the photography is also very clever so that is why it’s my image of the day!!- Enjoy!!

Jamie King’s Blue Dip Dyed Hair

Jamie King really pulls off this look!! I’m loving the mixture of light blue with darker blue dye underneath the light!! I think blue dip dyed hair really suits light blonde hair as it’s a real constrast on the hair!! Very funky, love it!- Enjoy!!

Funky Lip Designs

I found this picture the other day of all these super cool lip designs which are made to look like you have an animal on your lips!! I’d seen the panda one done before and thought it was so cute and quirky but look at all these other ones. I really want to try this out because it brings a whole new aspect of fun to an outfit!!- Enjoy!!

Got my ears pierced!

Yesterday the wait was finally up!! Ever since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to get them pierced!! I chose a simple gold stud and it hurt more than I thought it would but it wasn’t too bad!! It feels really weird to think that they are permanent now but I’m really happy with the turn out!!- Tell me what you think and here’s a picture of me also wearing my new jacket!! Enjoy!!
