I’ve been shopping! Spending a week in London staying with my sister meant that I had plenty of time to hit the shops and check out the summer sales. Recently, I have been downscaling my wardrobe and throwing out lots of clothes and I discovered that after this ‘de-clutter’ I could do with some more plain basic pieces as in general I tend to lean towards more stand-out patterned clothing. Also, I wear a lot of blue and navy so I wanted to try out some different colours- which explains the orange skirt! I have created 5 looks with my new purchases and also tried them on- I haven’t showed my face in this blog post as I couldn’t be bothered to put on makeup since I spent the day at home doing some more sorting of old junk. I hope you like- Enjoy!
Monochrome and Florals
When I saw this coat in Zara it was love at first sight! I’m a sucker for oversized tailoring and the black flowers on pale blue background create a stunning contrast. This coat also really reminds me of a Miu Miu collection a few years ago which is an added bonus seeing as this gorgeous coat was only £39.99 on sale, instead of a few thousand. For this look I’ve let the coat do the talking and styled it with my new Banana Republic white blouse and new Stradivarius black front pocket a-line skirt. To accessorize, I added my Coccinelle pink bag. I’ll have to wait a while to wear this outfit as it’s a bit too warm for this time of year but weirdly I’m quite excited for it to get a bit colder so I can wear it!
- Zara Oversized Blue Jaquard Floral Coat (Sale)
- Banana Republic White Blouse
- Stradivarius A-line Black Skirt
- Coccinelle Pink Bag
This orange skirt from the Zara sale is quite out of my comfort zone but I really love it! It’s also my favourite style of skirt- front pockets and a-line- very Sixties! I’ve paired this skirt with my new Zara sale cross-over three-quarter length sleeve blouse in light grey. To finish off this look I added this rose gold chocker from H&M.

- Zara Orange A-line Skirt

Geometric and Mint
I recently bought this mint blouse from Second Female and it’s a great wardrobe essential! I’ve chosen to style it with my new Stradivarius geometric print skirt and it’s made from neoprene so it’s got great structure. Light pink minimal heeled sandals from M&S and &OtherStories pink stone pendant necklace complete the outfit.

- Stradivarius Geometric Print Neoprene Shift Skirt
- M&S Pink Patent Minimal Sandals
- &OtherStories Pink Stone Pendant Necklace
Laser and High-waisted Shorts
I love my new laser-work light pink tee from Banana Republic and it looks great styled with my new H&M navy high-waisted shorts as the top is slightly cropped. This silver coin necklace from Miss Selfridge looks lovely on the high neckline of the top and my new Banana Republic sale cream clutch bag is a nice touch.

- H&M High-waisted Navy Shorts
- Banana Republic Cream Clutch
- Miss Selfridge Coin Necklace (comes in set of 3)
Black Culottes Evening Look
For the last outfit I thought I’d create an evening look. I recently purchased these amazing black culottes from Mademoiselle through La Redoute.com and they are so comfy as well as very stylish. Since the culottes are wide leg I opted for a tighter top- dark green v-neck crop top from Brandy Melville. For accessories, I chose my Mango simple wrist strap clutch, Red Herring black heels and gold laser-work statement necklace from a gift shop in Oxford.
